BENEFITS OF OXONE FOR SWIMMING POOL MAINTENANCE
Considered the very essence of “easy pool care”, Oxone is used in the Oxidation Step in total maintenance of a swimming pool. It is the most widely used non-chlorine oxidizer for pools and spas due to it’s ease of usage and compliments well with chlorine.
The use of Oxone as a weekly or bi-weekly shock oxidizer (depending on pool usage) would produce results as such:
CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER
Organic contaminants contributed by pool users (ie. sweat, body oils, dead skin, urine) and the environment (ie. leaves, wind-blown dust, rainwater) cause pool and spa water to be dull and cloudy. Regular weekly shock oxidation treatment with Oxone monopersulfate compound preserves the clarity of water by oxidizing organic contaminants. These oxidized particles would combine better into bigger particles and is easily removed by the pool filtration system.
The process of oxidation, flocculation and filtration keeps pool water sparkling clean.
REDUCES ODOURS AND IRRITATION
When you smell the pool before seeing it, it signifies the presence of chloramines.
No! This is not the smell of chlorine.
This unpleasant smell of chloramines is evidence of:
Chloramines (Referred as combined chlorine) form when chlorine in pool water “combine” with organic matter. This is the source of red eye and skin irritation, a very common complaint from swimmers. Chloramines migrate into the air space to create the strong, chlorine-like odours. The persistent presence of the chlorine-like odours would susceptibly cause corrosion to your facilities.
Weekly oxidising shock with Oxone removes organic pollutants before they may combine with chlorine to generate chloramines. As a result, swimming will be more pleasurable without the eye burning sensation, skin discomfort, or chloramine odours.
MINIMAL DOWNTIME – ONLY 15 MINUTES
The act of raising chlorine levels to the upper limits to sanitise swimming pools is commonly practised. On top of the presence of high amount of chlorine could be detrimental to health, it would take almost 12 to 24 hours before the pool can be use again when chlorine concentration returns to safe levels.
Public pools, especially water theme-parks, cannot afford such down times.
Oxone, the chlorine-free alternative oxidisers, provides useful oxidation treatments without boosting chlorine levels. From dispersing the free-flowing powder of Oxone and allowing for circulation, the pool can be use again in 15 minutes.
There’s less down time and more time for fun in the pool.
REDUCES CHLORINE USAGE
Better, more responsible usage of chlorine should be our main aim. To lower the overall quantity of chlorine used to treat the pool, simply add a chlorine-free, supplemental oxidiser containing Oxone monopersulfate compound to the treatment programme for regular oxidation. Such a programme effectively minimises chloramine and chloramine odours and irritation while providing important oxidation without boosting chlorine.
Oxone reduces the load on chlorine to react with organic contaminants, maintaining optimal free-chlorine levels to sanitise the pool. Chlorine in pools would last longer thus extending the frequency of chlorine top up.
