MONOETHANOLAMINE

Duro Kimia is the supplier of high grade Monoethanolamines (MEA).

Monoethanolamine has a combination of properties from both amines and alcohols, hence it exudes the special capability of undergoing reactions common to both groups. Monoethanolamine is mildly alkaline, and is able to react with acids to form salts or soaps (as an amine). It is also hygroscopic and can be esterified (as an alcohol).

CAS: 141-43-5

    • Effective oil and anti-redeposition agent

    • Reacts with lauryl sulphate to form the foaming base surfactant in hair shampoo

    • Neutralizes fatty acids, forming emulsifiers for oil-in-water emulsions (gel-type industrial hand cleaners, aerosol shave cream, body and hand lotions)

    • Used as a base component in some mild bar soap

    Applications

    • Cleaning detergents

    • Personal care products

    • Textile finishing

    • Wood treating

    • Intermediates in concrete additives and adhesives, rubber, agricultural and photographic chemicals

    • As a component in cement grinding aids

    • As “down hole” in oil well chemicals

    • Prevents corrosion in metalworking

    • As a catalyst to promote stability during the reaction process to manufacture flexible and rigid urethane foams
